Tupac Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was an icon of gangsta-rap, and considered one of the most influential rappers of all time.
Growing up poor under the guardianship of his single mother, while constantly under threat of discrimination and violence- Tupac would use his early struggles to fuel him to be the spokesperson for the millions of African Americans who experience the similar welfare he grew up in. Armed with an overwhelming charisma and an undeniable talent for words, he embodied the 90's gangsta-rap aesthetic, standing up for change while using music as his weapon. He once said 'if you can't find something to live for, you best find something to die for.' And he lived and died for something he believed in. To this date he has sold 75 million albums making him one of the best selling artists of all time.
